Body of drowned man found by off-duty lifeguard

The body of a 20-year-old Somali man who drowned at Strand Beach in the Western Cape was discovered by an off-duty lifeguard who was surfing in the vicinity‚ the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said. An extensive air‚ sea and shoreline search was launched on Thursday afternoon after the man was reported to have disappeared under water while swimming at the beach.
