Aung San Suu Kyi has nominated a writer and close friend who once acted as her personal driver as her "puppet" president of Burma after weeks of febrile speculation and intense negotiations.The choice of her long-time adviser Htin Kyaw marks the end - for now - of her dream of leading the country out of five decades of military rule.
