Garbage collectors halt hearings with demand for interpreters

Pikitup workers due to answer to disciplinary charges have thrown a language curve ball at the City of Johannesburg. They want language interpreters to be present at the disciplinary hearing so they can follow and understand the proceedings.Pikitup, the city's waste management company, ordered 4800 SA Municipal Workers Union members who have been on strike for over three weeks to face a disciplinary hearing at Rand Stadium in Rosettenville yesterday.
