Kliptown quiet after electricity protest

Police on Friday denied reports that they fired rubber bullets at protesters in the Mandela Square informal settlement the night before. Gauteng police spokesman Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the situation on Friday morning in the settlement in Kliptown‚ south of Johannesburg‚ has quietened down.Dlamini also said that there were no reports of anyone being injured‚ despite claims by community leader Sipho Jantjies‚ who said: “Two elders and a young boy were wounded.
