Wits EFF student leader Vuyani Pambo addressed protesters after the incident saying that no one was going to police who attended the #FeesMustFall protest and that everyone was welcome no matter their sexual orientation.

Pambo begged: “Black children cannot be caught fighting with each other this way. Let us find common ground and let us unite.”

A lecture hall was set alight during the protest with reported damage to the roof and seats.
