Accused in cell murder case sent for mental observation

The man accused of killing 18-year-old Gerdo Karelse in a police cell in Beaufort West is said to be a danger to the community and will undergo mental observation at Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital. This according to a member of the Central Karoo Religious Leaders‚ Richard Matroos‚ who on Tuesday told TMG Digital that community members and the media were unable to attend the court proceedings of Zuko Mguqgunthu that took place on Tuesday.
