Student imbizo ends in impasse

Student leaders have rubbished a proposed accord at the end of a day-long university imbizo hosted by Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande yesterday and are demanding to see President Jacob Zuma instead. Students said they had worked on a new model for university funding, proposing that the government contribute 50%, the corporate or private sector 30% and student fees 20%.
