‘Violence only takes place when police and security are on campus’: Wits SRC

The University of the Witwatersrand Student Representative Council (SRC) on Tuesday moved to distance itself from the violence that played out on the campus and the streets of Braamfontein a day earlier. A bus was torched and shops looted when students were dispersed by police after attacking private security personnel outside the Great Hall.
