Drill operators stage underground sit-in

At least 66 rock drill operators (RDOs) are currently staging a sit-in underground at Gold One Modder East Operations in Springs‚ Ekurhuleni. The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) confirmed that the 66 union members had been staging a sit-in underground since Tuesday.“The rock drill operators are demanding [a] R250 bonus per blast.
