NSRI helps douse thatch roof fire

The storm activity in the area has kept the National Sea Rescue Institute’s (NSRI) Vaal Dam duty crew busy. But instead of being called to rescue people swept away in raging torrents‚ on Thursday they attended to a house fire in Deneysville.They were contacted at 8pm and “crew responded in our NSRI rescue vehicle‚ carrying fire fighting gear‚ to a thatch roof house in Johnson Street‚ struck by lightening that sparked a fire in the thatch roof”.
