Former Springbok flyhalf Joel Stransky insists he has no beef with the Cheetahs.

The Free State hit out angrily at Stransky, who had suggested they, along with the Southern Kings, should be omitted from a reconfigured Super Rugby competition.

Stransky was speaking on New Zealand radio.

"I have no issues with the Cheetahs. The station called up and said they had heard that the Cheetahs and the Kings will be omitted from Super Rugby and whether I agreed with it. I said yes," Stransky said yesterday.

He argued in the radio interview that with the Cheetahs and the Kings out of the way, four strong South African teams would be left in Super Rugby.

The Cheetahs said in their statement yesterday that they are currently ranked in the top four of the South African Super Rugby teams.
