Video footage of a group of surfers attempting to rescue a baby great white shark in Victoria Bay in the Western Cape has gone viral.

The shark was found stranded on rocks at the beach on March 23.

A group of surfers and lifeguards who saw the shark battling on the rocks decided to intervene by carrying it to another part of the beach, after which the shark managed to swim away to safety.
