I am a bit leery of how people tend to conflate religion with morality.

To me the fact that Pastor Zondo is a pastor is a bit of a stain on his credibility as a moral voice.

I mean for crying out loud, today I read about a pastor who has been found guilty of molesting his grandchildren, another was accused of lying on his resume, and a third who was arrested for stealing from a charity store.

Moral standing is not something I automatically assign to pastors.

So the fact that he was cheating on his wife? Eh, that’s minor all things considered.

But then I thought about it, and something a little more serious struck me – he was fired by the SABC because somebody posted a naked video of him online without his consent.

And this isn’t minor.

Revenge porn is a form of sexual assault.

And you don't punish the victims of an assault. As much as one might argue that Zondo was having an affair - it wasn't the affair that took him down.

It was the fact that he was assaulted in this way, and the SABC's reaction empowers those who would do this to others.

Zondo having an affair? That is between him, his wife, his mistress and maybe his congregation. Zondo getting fired for a nude video of him leaking online?

That is something to worry about for the rest of us.

Well, the rest of you. Any camera taking pictures of my naked form would probably break out of a sense duty to shield the rest of humanity, and the photographer would be had up in front of the Hague.
