Sue Richardson, by e-mail: Water cuts and burst pipes are an ongoing problem, yet little is being said, it seems, about this basic issue. A call to Joburg Water's technical services gives a frighteningly long list of areas experiencing a "water outage".
At an average rate of at least one "outage" a week, I wonder how it will be possible to ensure a constant water supply during the World Cup, quite apart from Eskom and its problems. Water is life. Surely by now we all know this, or is Joburg Water not in that particular loop?
