Despite the fact that a test flight conducted by KLM showed no irregularities, it must be remembered that in 1989, a KLM Boeing flew through a volcanic ash cloud above Alaska and temporarily lost all four engines.
The World Cup is almost upon us, so what will happen if all flights are still grounded and fans will not be arriving because of volcanic ash?
