Privatise for a better future
Ashley Mendelowitz, Joburg: Miguel Octavio's stinging reply to Fazila Farouk's utopian dissertation on Venezuela was very telling and well written. ("Socialist paradise where the black market rules", May 3).
The bottom line for South Africa is that the sooner Telkom, Eskom and other parastatals are privatised, and the entire playing field levelled for others to compete with them, the better for all the country's citizens.
It will happen eventually, as soon as the likes of Julius Malema feel they have sufficiently lined their pockets.
