The World Cup's been the real calamari

Paul Willemburg, Gauteng | 08 July, 2010 23:180 Comments

Paul Willemburg, Gauteng: So Paul the Oracle Octopus was right and Spain won the semi on Wednesday night.

Now before any German fan gets the notion to serve poor Paul up with lemon wedges, let's be honest: Wednesday's game was a bit of a damp squib. I said squib not squid!

There was none of the passion of the game between Uruguay and the Netherlands.

We have put our hearts into this World Cup, and even when Bafana went out, we got behind the other teams and screamed our lungs out. We hope this will be reciprocated with passion on the field.

Good luck to the Netherlands and Spain on Sunday. And well done, South Africa!
