Laptop plan will crash
Baffled parent, Cape Town: In referenceto the article "Laptop initiative launched at schools" (July 16) , I was left wondering how ensuring every registered teacher gets a laptop will produce "scholars who could compete in the technological world".
Call me dumb, but surely scholars need to have access to their own computers to learn the technological skills necessary to compete in the big, wide world?
I don't see teachers sharing their computers with scholars, especially if the teachers have to pay.
