In his latest column, "Good work DA - now it's time to get over your complexion complex", he departs from analysis about the future of the DA/ID coalition to launch a direct attack on the IFP president, calling him a "cantankerous leader". Less than two months ago, Makhanya hurled the same insult at Buthelezi .
Makhanya's extreme anti-Buthelezi rhetoric defies belief.
Contrary to Mr Makhanya's views, Buthelezi has earned the affection and admiration of friend and foe alike for his lifetime's dedication to this struggle.
