I'm almost 70 and have been an ardent rugby fan practically all my life (had three brothers, a son and now two grandsons!), was a "hokkie bokkie", tennis, netball, swimming (no good at that!) ... married a German SOCCER fan ... am widowed BUT still a sports nut.

Just like Mary-Lou Gilliam, of Kloof, I became this wobbly, emotional mass upon reading Nceba's letter. I salute you - I praise the Lord for you!

John Smit must know that we love and appreciate him.

I have cut out the picture in last week's Sunday Times of him and his children taken at the beginning of "that" game last weekend and was so sad to see how he bowed to his emotions at the end.
