Xenon Raphtopoulos, by e-mail: It comes as no surprise that the ludicrous criminal charges against Mzilikazi wa Afrika have been withdrawn by the NPA.
Clearly, there was no substance to the charges which were lodged during the recent hostile climate to the embattled free press.
At the time of Wa Afrika's jackboot arrest by a large squad of police, the Hawks spokesman, Musa Zondi, all but promised that shocking details about the alleged offences would emerge in court.
Now that the state's case has collapsed, I challenge the Hawks' spin doctor to tell us what those serious accusations were.
Litigation by Wa Afrika to salvage his reputation should be considered.
