Writer wrong about White and De Villiers

Ian Jackson, Rivonia | 08 September, 2010 00:040 Comments

Ian Jackson, Rivonia: At least three statements in the letter "White not the great hope" (September 7) are inaccurate, to say the least.

"White is behaving as if he is the only one qualified to save the Boks." White is certainly the most qualified potential saviour, but the task might be beyond even his proven abilities.

"De Villiers is still the coach in charge, appointed on merit by Saru." What merit? The job requires many skills, including tact and the ability to communicate, both of which De Villiers patently lacks.

"Until Saru decides De Villiers is no longer the right man for the job the public has to respect that." What rubbish! The public is under no obligation to do anything.
