A sergeant guarding Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa has been arrested for stealing from him, Mthethwa spokesman Zweli Mnisi said.

"There was no break-in at the minister's Cape Town house, but a laptop computer and cellphone went missing on Saturday," Mnisi said.

The belongings were recovered. The policeman was arrested on Monday, with two men said to have bought the items from him. The three will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court today.
