Nzimande foolish, childish and reactionary: ANCYL

Times LIVE | 29 June, 2011 10:3148 Comments
Communist party boss Blade Nzimande. File picture.

The ANCYL says it's disgusted by the conspiracies being spread by Blade Nzimande, "the part-time General Secretary of the South African Communist Party."

The ANCYL says Nzimande is repeating "the old and tired conspiracy that it is speaking about nationalisation because youth league leaders are bought by mining companies that are failing and need a bail-out."

"Blade Nzimande claims that only few business people will benefit from Mines’ nationalisation. The ANC Youth League believes that these conspiracies and the attitude of Blade Nzimande are foolish, childish and reactionary."

"In our call for Nationalisation of Mines, the ANC Youth League has never said, nor suggested that government must buy mines or spend government resources for the state to take ownership and control of mines."

The league says "in more than thousand times (sic), the ANC Youth League has said we should utilise legislation to take over control and ownership of existing mines and all future minining activities.

"The ANC Youth League is inspired that COSATU, a reliable fighter in the struggle for the emancipation of the working class, rejects the conspiracies spread about the call for Nationalisation."

It says: "We particularly appreciate that COSATU’s interventions and inputs are aimed at strengthening the nationalisation perspective and not ridicule it through lies."

That is exactly the way I see it. The failed mines will be sold off, probablyto the Chinese and the proceeds will be pocketed.

Malema must be aware that legislation must be line with the consitution; u cant just grab the mines like that, firstly this companies have invested a lot in this mines, like it or not the government has to buy the assets in the mines and those mines that are in the red have to be liquidated and the mines will be in the hands of creditors, in one way or the other government have to bail out this mines for them to constitutionaly take over the mines.

I bet Malema will register a company that deals with services to the mines and these tenders will belongs to him, Lastly tell me one public entity whose books are in the postive, this will also happen to mines and the poor will suffer more.

If Malema was to become SA president he would 'suspend' or ammend the constitution as they do in the rest of Africa.
However I suspect he is just rabble rousing to offer the unemployed youth some hope.

It's dog eats dog. Nzimande claims to be a communist, Malema is anti-white, but the opposite is what they seem to be doing. Populism has manifested itself to the core with in the alliance, to the detrimental of the country...service delivery etc etc.

I love this, let them with their personal greed destroy both of useless organizations. Then this country will grow and everyone will have a opportunity to better themselves .

Typical of the ANCYL.
Are there members of the ANCYL who are trying to benefit from tenders in the mining industry? What is the answer? Yes or no. Actually that isn't even addressed, is it?
The only reaction that we get from Nzimande's accusation is one that is foolish, childish and reactionary.

They all (CP and YL) are in it to take what belongs to others. They are arguing about who has the best motives and they don't trust each other. That's what this is all about.

Others' belongings and who should be trusted with it. They don't even trust one another. Cut from the same cloth. They know exactly what can be expected of the other so it follows naturally that they don't trust each other.

Who in his/her right mind will want to trust either of the camps.

Who cares which of the two camps takes it. Once the taking starts the country will bleed to a standstill.

What now Mr Malema??? You wanna do the same as your cousin did to the last mine????

These companies are the olding force of our economy, not everything can be given back to the poor thats what the department of social development is there for. For as long as private companies are bring in the money and capitalisn rules the world just let the other group of fat cats make their money.

Gosh must you have everything???!!!

It seems the debate has been in the public domain for some considerable time. The problem is that the various participants are ridiculously under equipped to debate anything. A trait common to the ANC.

Not one of the two are worth representing. In this instance as in most instances in the past both these guys represent views that I can not endorce. Maybe you want to elaborate on why these guys are fighting in the public domain when their leader Jacob Zuma asked them on numerous occasions not to do so. My understanding of this would be that their is no discipline in the ANC family and definitely no loyalty.

I understand but if you really consider the fact that the elective conferene is just a year away you would agree with me if I say all of this is to seperate those candidates that dont agree with the nationalisation to those who agree before the conference.

ANCYL said so in their conference, Agree.

Why can this process not be done behind closed doors. This squables in the public can not contribute to a pruductive outcome.
The real debate is nationalisation or not? Agreed
Avatar

Posted 331 days ago
Because those who nominate the candidates wont participate in the debate if it done behind doors.

The only way they can participate is when the debate is done in a lower levell or publicly. We cant have people debating critical issues behind closed doors, freedom is about transparency.
Why hide your views from the people who elected you?

The current political dispensation is fairly unique in SA with the ANC really a conglomorate of political parties under one roof. I personally see no benefit from such a system and holds the view that this is precisely why the current government has such a dismal delivery record. A country with the numerous problems that we have needs a strong cohesive government to address the challenges. This system of devide and rule has produced no favourable results after seventeen years and I believe unless these warring factions separate and fight their battles as seperate political parties the chaos will continue. This will then support your view of fairness to the voting public.

The way i understand the ANC's electroral system is that even the presidential candidate is chosen for the masses by a handful NEC members. You may support the ANC not the candidate they force you to vote for. These candidates are chosen behind closed doors right or wrong? If the public were to vote for the candidates...Zuma will never make it to the ANC top 100. The most indecisive, populist arrogant leader since '94.

I'm sure you wont agree with me on this one.

South Africa is new in this democacy thing and has a lot to do in order to correct the pass, like new policies and less parliamentrary debates.

The allaence of ANC, SACP and COSATU is realy a good force in leading this country, if the three has to seperate this will only help by reducing the strenght of the ANC and delay the process of change, eg Economic redistribution.

I am enjoying the contests, insults and challenges being thrown/hurled/made between ANCYL and Blade (SACP) - long may they continue.

I am also enjoying the accusations being made by VAVI (Cosatu) against Zuma (ANC).

I sincerely hope this leads to an almighty bustup between the whole lot of them which actually resulties in casualties in their respective leaders.

Any implosion would be welcome.

The SACP and Cosatu are total parasites leaching off the ANC for positions they would not be able to have if they were to split and form their own individual political parties.

They are far too 'chicken' to do that , because the voters would prove just how irrelevant they are individually.

Please. please carry on - I'll just get a few refills of popcorn.

Wrong on this one. I agree that we need better policies and less unproductive debate in parliament. We are indeed a young democracy and we have huge imballances from the past political system of apartheid.
I do however not agree with the tri party political system as a solution. To me it is dishonest. I have a lot of respect for the PAC although I did not agree with their policies they at least were clear on what they wanted in a new South Africa. They supported a Mozambique style constitution. The problem seems that the voters did not agree with them then hence their dismal decline as a political party. It now dseems people in the ANC alliance wants the same. There is a dishonesty in this turnaround that smells very bad. I am sure you agree.

Blade is on the money with his comment about the so called brain trust of Malema and his gang. The state ownership of the economy has been a total failure all over the world and this is why the Russians and the Chinese have sold off all of the state companies in their countries. Castro has told the people in Cuba that the economic system in Cuba was a failure and for the Cubans to go out and start businesses because the state could no longer take care of them. This should have been the same message that Blade and Zuma should have told these people in the YL. The people in the YL should be out starting their businesses and creating wealth for SA because the government could not create wealth for them.

Moreover, Malema is a liar and a phony, he is the president of seven companies that have been getting tenders from the government and he said that he wasn't aware he was the president of these companies. He doesn't give a damn about the poor and this is his sell to get over on the poor. Zuma is the cause of this problem with Malema because he was embracing him to get his support. I would love to know if he is paying income taxes.
