Gauteng ANC members will attend a political school next week to "sharpen political understanding", says an official.

"The school is critical to ensure better and cohesive political approach on organisational and policy issues in the ANC," ANC provincial spokesman Dumisa Ntuli said in a statement on Friday.

"The political school is a platform to deliberate, broaden and sharpen political understanding in strengthening political debate in the ANC."

Ntuli said the classes would take place in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, next Friday and Saturday.

Members of the youth league, the women's league and the Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association will attend.

Discussion papers on economic and social transformation, organisational renewal, governance and international relations will be presented.

"The ongoing political debate is [the] lifeblood of the ANC," said Ntuli.
