Cele still in hospital

National police commissioner Bheki Cele was still in hospital yesterday.
He was admitted, reportedly for a routine checkup, three days ago. Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital general manager Tienie van den Berg would not comment on his condition.
The police yesterday quoted Cele as saying "[I] came to the hospital for a routine check-up and walked into this medical facility unaided."
Cele said he expected to remain in hospital for between 12 and 24 hours.
Police spokesman Colonel Vishnu Naidoo said Cele's "routine general medical check-up" warranted a hospital stay of at least 24 hours.
