South Africa's former president Nelson Mandela is doing well in his childhood village after moving from Johannesburg before his 93rd birthday in July, his personal cook said on Wednesday.
"He is fine, he is enjoying home in the countryside, he is fine, he is doing very, very well," Xoliswa Ndoyiya told AFP.
Ndoyiya was in Johannesburg to promote her cookbook on Mandela's favourite food, titled "Ukutya Kwasekhaya: Tastes from Nelson Mandela's Kitchen".
The anti-apartheid icon first returned to his rural home in June after being discharged from hospital in January for an acute respiratory infection.
At the time, he was said to be receiving round-the-clock medical care.
His last public appearence was during the closing ceremony of the 2010 Fifa World Cup in Johannesburg, where he was wheeled in and waved to the crowd.
Mandela was elected the country's first black president in South Africa's first all-race vote in 1994 and served one term before stepping down in 1999.
