Deputy Science and Technology Minister Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi, who is also leader of the National Freedom Party, is resting in a Durban hospital, the ministry said on Tuesday.

"She was admitted [to hospital] yesterday [Monday]," her spokesman Canaan Mdletshe said.

"She has been travelling all over the country, all the travelling has taken its toll on her and she needs to rest."

Asked about kaMagwaza-Misibi's condition, Mdletshe said "She is fine, she is resting".

NFP secretary general Nhlanhla Khubisa could not be reached for comment.
