Mbuyiseni 'The People’s Bae' Ndlozi took to the podium yesterday during the tabling of the presidency’s budget vote in Parliament. At centre stage was of course the Marikana Report which has still not been released.

The EFF spokesperson was his usual sharp tongued self and it was a delight to watch. Here are 5 of our favourite quotes. See the full video below.

1. To Cyril Ramaphosa on the Marikana report and South Africa’s economy:

“You are the last one to talk about sharing wealth when your own wealth is based on the cheap and easily disposable labour of black mineworkers who were killed in Marikana.”

2. To Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Mzwandile Masina following comments that Ndlozi thinks he is Mr Parliament:

“At least we do not suffer from the nyaope delinquent speech diarrhoea characterised by his political inarticulation”

3. On Zuma’s comments that the people of South Africa voted for sick people who need a cure and that the violence in parliament is the legacy of apartheid.

“We want to agree with you, Mr President. That you and the members of your political party are morally, ethically and cognitively sick. Only a sick people admire a person who steals and pick pockets the poor. Only a sick people would celebrate when police are legally brought into parliament to beat up members. Only a sick man can continue to insist that the Speaker’s rulings are worth respecting and complying with even when the courts of law dismiss them.”

4. To Zuma on the Marikana Report:

“It is your sick government that sent police in Marikana to shoot and massacre 34 poor black mineworkers who were only asking for a living wage.”

5. Again to Zuma on the Marikana Report:

“If you’re looking for a cure, release the Marikana report. Give us a date and time. There is a date as to when they were killed. There is a time of their death.”
