Presidency rejects ‘spurious’ Mpumalanga plot allegations

“The shocking allegations are untrue and malicious. The Presidency does not and cannot engage in that type of conduct and activities‚” the Presidency said in a statement. The Presidency has strongly rejected what it referred to as the “spurious allegations” made by Mr Jan Venter‚ a former employee of Dr Mathews Phosa‚ that officials from the Presidency met him apparently as part of some plot to discredit Dr Phosa.“The shocking allegations are untrue and malicious. The Presidency does not and cannot engage in that type of conduct and activities‚” the Presidency said in a statement.It said that no official from the Presidency had ever met Mr Venter “and none would have any reason to meet with him”.“Mr Venter should not drag the office of the President into matters that have nothing to do with it‚” the Presidency added.Phosa is a former premier of Mpumalanga as well as a member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress...
