Blue lights and security clampdown for visiting Chinese

South Africa's business centre Sandton is under a security clampdown this week as Johannesburg prepares to host the Forum on China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). A special police operation has been mounted to ensure the safety of Heads of State‚ Ministers and business communities from China and Africa for the event‚ scheduled to take place on 4 and 5 December at the Sandton International Convention CentreLieutenant General Elias Mawela is leading a National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS)‚ which has been officially deployed since Saturday‚ 28 November."The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Commitee would like to thank the residents and businesses of Sandton and surrounding areas for their unwavering support and tolerance to our security deployment in this city‚ particularly with regards to restricted access‚" the SAPS said in a statement.The joint security forces that have been deployed are handling every aspect from border security‚ route security‚ venue security‚ city security‚ crowd management and visible policing...
