Unisa to 'in-source' some services

Unisa committed itself to ending some of its outsourced services and will set up a multi-disciplinary team tasked with putting this decision into effect‚ the university’s council said on Friday. The process is expected to be concluded in six months.This was announced to students and workers who had assembled at the Unisa main campus.The council also discussed the terms of office of council members‚ which was raised in a memorandum of grievances submitted by students and workers and has decided that “in the best interest of the university and guided by the statutes of the university‚ these members would need to step down from the council with immediate effect".The council approved the appointment of a new vice-principal and elected Mr S Simelane and Dr B Mehlomakhulu as the new chairperson and deputy Chairperson of Council respectively...
