The march is one of several organised to call for President Jacob Zuma to be recalled, following his decision to replace Nhlanhla Nene as Finance Minister with little-known backbencher David van Rooyen, who was himself sacked just four days later after the rand collapsed.

While the rand has stabilised with the announcement of Pravin Gordhan's appointment as Finance Minister, many South Africans are less than pleased with the president's actions.
