DA opposes Mkhwebane's nomination for public protector post

The Democratic Alliance has opposed the proposed appointment of Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane as Thuli Madonsela’s successor as public protector. Speaking during the Public Protector debate in Parliament on Wednesday evening‚ DA MP Glynnis Breytenbach raised issues such as inadequate qualifications and experience as well as her past work at the State Security Agency (SSA) as reasons Mkhwebane would be an unfit public protector.
