Ex government official nabbed for alleged tender fraud involving R35m

A 52-year-old former high ranking government official is expected to appear in the Bellville Specialised Commercial Crime Court in October in connection with tender fraud amounting to about R35 million. He was arrested on Friday by the Hawks’ Commercial Unit.“It is alleged that the accused was instrumental in manipulating the tender processes of the Department of Health in the Western Cape between 2009 and 2010.
