Police investigating ANC Western Cape leader Fransman for sexual harassment

News that ANC Western Cape chairperson Marius Fransman is being investigated by the police for sexual harassment has led to demands that he be suspended from all leadership positions. The ANC’s spokesperson‚ Zizi Kodwa‚ confirmed on Friday that a sexual harassment complaint has been laid against Fransman in Rustenburg where the party is holding its 104th birthday The Congress of the People and the Democratic Alliance called for his immediate suspension in statements released on Friday.Cope said the police must ensure the complainant receives the full protection of the law given that in other sexual harassment cases “police protect those in prominent positions at the expense of the woman who has been sexually molested or violated”.Cope said the problem of serious sexual harassment and of rape has become so severe in South Africa as to warrant the sternest legal action regardless of who the person is.The DA described Fransman as a loose cannon and said the ANC must act against him or be seen to approve of his alleged sexual assault...
