The North West province will remain under the control and leadership of the ANC, provincial chairperson and premier Supra Mahumapelo said on Saturday.

“We will unleash the fiercest forces of the alliance to ensure we win decisively the local municipal elections,” Mahumapelo told thousands of people gathered at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium for the party’s 104th anniversary celebration.

“We will ensure the municipalities [in the North West] remain under the control of the ANC.”

Mahumapelo added that there would be no obstructions in the road leading to victory during the upcoming elections.

The North West is one of the areas where the Economic Freedom Fighters has a strong presence and the province is expected to be hotly contested during the elections.

“There is nobody who will stand in between the movement and the alliance,” he said.
