A handful of Democratic Alliance (DA) members demonstrated outside the Pretoria Magistrates Court ahead of MP and former head of the National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) Specialised Commercial Crimes’ Glynnis Breytenbach’s appearance. Clad in a black top and matching pants‚ Breytenbach looked relaxed on Monday morning as she was escorted from the Pretoria Central cells to the nearby court. She handed herself over for arrest earlier in the day.Breytenbach and her lawyer are facing charges of obstruction and defeating the ends of justice relating to an internal NPA probe in 2012‚ during which Breytenbach was investigated for misconduct.According to the NPA‚ the duo allegedly refused to hand over an official laptop to officials who were investigating them. The NPA claims Breytenbach allegedly shredded relevant papers and wiped clean her laptop while she was still the head of the NPA's specialised commercial crimes unit. The DA said the charges brought against her were politically motivated. – TMG Digital/The Times..
