The Democratic Alliance says it will not allow the budget to be balanced on the backs of young people who do not have jobs‚ or have given up looking for jobs.

Reacting to Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan’s Budget speech in Parliament on Wednesday‚ DA finance spokesman David Maynier said the party was disappointed that the minister had made no clear commitment to rollover the Employment Tax Incentive which lapses on January 1 2017.

He said the DA would continue to fight for a speedy review of the Employment Tax Incentive and a rollover of the Employment Tax Incentive between 2016/17 and 2018/19.
