Guptas and Zumas face charges in two cities

Deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas’s bombshell will see two political parties laying charges against members of the Gupta and Zuma families on Thursday morning. The Congress of the People (Cope) will be laying charges of corruption against President Jacob Zuma “as well as the Guptas” at Pretoria’s Brooklyn Police StationJonas threatened: 'Martyrdom is best left to Christ'BDlive on Thursday reported that deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas received a threatening SMS shortly before he confirmed he had been offered the finance ministry by the Gupta family.The Democratic Alliance (DA) will lay charges in Cape Town against “Atul Gupta‚ Ajay Gupta‚ Duduzane Zuma (the president’s son) and any other persons who were present at the time the offer was made”. This follows‚ the DA’s David Maynier said‚ the news that Jonas “finally had the courage to disclose that he was offered the position of finance minister by members of the Gupta family”.Jonas had‚ until Wednesday night‚ remained silent on the meeting which was first reported on by The Finanical Times in London.Cope’s Dennis Bloem also highlighted as a “classic example of corruption” revelations from former African National Congress MP Vytjie Mentor on her Facebook page‚ “alleging that she was offered a ministerial position by the Gupta family‚ at the family’s residence in Saxonword”.“The position according to the statement was hers if she would as the new minister of public enterprises halted South African Airways from flying to India and making that route available to the Gupta family‚” said Bloem...
