Crime‚ drug abuse‚ corrupt councillors and unemployment are some of the "pressing" issues Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members want their leader Julius Malema to address in his Manifesto launch speech. While thousands of EFF supporters descended on Orlando Stadium on Saturday morning‚ to hear what the party's Manifesto entails ahead of the local government elections in August‚ they too have issues they want Malema to address.Buchule Raba "The most pressing issues we want him [Malema] to address are housing evictions‚ prepaid electricity-we dont want it. We want the old billing system. The prepaid electricity system is capitalist. It is not benefitting poor people. If you are poor in the township‚ you don't get electricity‚" Tshepo Mashego of Dube said.Mashego said Malema should address the issue of unemployment among the youth and drug abuse."He [Malema] needs to find the root cause of nyaope abuse. Young people are unemployed and as a result resort to crime. He must tell us how he can help young people get jobs."Nhlanhla Ntsimbi had this to say: "He [Malema] must address the issue of corrupt ANC councillors. They get elected and leave the township to stay in the suburbs. They are not looking after poor people's interests‚ but their stomachs."..
