Representatives of various parties pay last respects to Matshoge

International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana Mashabane and Deputy Minister for Agriculture Bheki Cele were among those who gathered in Polokwane on Wednesday to pay their respects to Limpopo agriculture MEC Joyce Matshoge. Matshoge was killed in a tragic car crash on Saturday night while driving on the N1 from Polokwane towards her home in Modimolle.According to reports Matshoge‚ who was also the African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) chairperson in Limpopo‚ was travelling alone when the accident happened.The occasion was marked by the singing of solemn hymns while representatives from various political parties also arrived at the Jack Botes hall to give their tributes.The crowd broke into a struggle song as Modimolle mayor Meisie Lekalakala who was also Matshoge's close friend stood up to speak.Lekalakala described Matshoge as a passionate person who was loved by all who knew her."She has always been there when I needed her the most. She was Mama Joy to the community of Modimolle‚" she said.Speaking on behalf of the family Matshoge's uncle‚ Peter Mosito‚ said they were very proud of her."She was not just anyone. She was a great woman‚" Mosito said.He said the family had suffered a great loss."A child who was given to us is no longer here‚" Mosito said...
