Cosatu to march on Swartruggens Toll Plaza

Motorists would be wise to avoid the N4 highway in the area around the Swartruggens Toll Plaza in the North West on Friday. The Congress of South African Trade Unions took to Twitter - @COSATU Today ‏@_cosatu – to warn: “Today‚ #COSATU North West workers to march along the Swartruggens expensive tollgate from 10h00 to demand reduction of fees.”The union federation did not elaborate on its current demand‚ but in March last year had embarked on a “slow-drive campaign” to get that fee at the Bakwena toll gate between Swartruggens and Zeerust reduced from R75 to R58.That protest was timed to coincide with State of the Province Address.
