Inkatha Freedom Party leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi has described the high level of corruption in the government as beyond "Satan's imagination".Buthelezi made these remarks in Thokoza‚ Ekurhuleni‚ on Friday‚ which he was visiting to encourage residents to make their mark for a "leadership of integrity” come the local government elections on August 3. "The corruption in our country has reached its peak. The manner in which the ANC-led government is corrupt is beyond Satan's imagination‚" said Buthelezi‚ causing the crowd to burst into laughter. He encouraged citizens to vote for the IFP because the party would ensure residents’ needs are met.Speaking about crime in the area, Buthelezi, while shaking his head, said that it didn't surprise him, "This ANC-led government gives untrained cadres high positions in the policing unit‚ which they are not qualified for.""The power to change to your preferred party to lead the country is in your hands. Come 3 August‚ vote for the IFP‚" said the 87-year-old veteran politician. He said President Jacob Zuma has always hired national police commissioners who are always on the wrong side of the law."First it was Jackie Selebi‚ who drowned in corruption charges‚ and soon after that‚ he got Bheki Cele. I then told Mr Zuma in parliament ... to stop hiring unqualified comrades into positions‚" said Buthelezi.Cele was fired by Zuma for his role in awarding of a R1.7-billion contract for police accommodation in 2012."He [Zuma] then went on to deploy Riah Phiyega‚ who is also facing multiple charges."Phiyega is currently suspended from duty following the Claassen Board of Inquiry into her fitness to hold office.Buthelezi added: "How do you then expect the crime rate to decrease when top management themselves are not thoroughly trained to serve in their positions?"On Saturday‚ the IFP will continue doing their door-to-door campaign on Saturday...
