IFP refutes allegations it split vote at Mogale City

The Inkatha Freedom Party has refuted allegations that the IFP split its vote in the Mogale City council‚ resulting in the ANC winning the speaker’s position in the municipality. “The IFP respects the cooperation agreement it has entered into with the Democratic Alliance and Economic Freedom Fighters‚ stands by that agreement and will continue to do so‚” the party said in a statement. The DA won the vote for the position of executive mayor in the West Rand municipality by 39 votes to 38‚ but lost the election for the speaker’s position by one vote.The ANC has 38 seats in the council while the DA and the remaining parties who have committed to working together hold 39...
