#OccupyLuthuliHouse leaders arrive at Luthuli House for meeting with Mantashe

Leaders of the #OccupyLuthuliHouse have arrived at Luthuli House in Johannesburg where they are expected to meet with ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe. Last Monday police had to separate two factions of the African National Congress as well as Umkhonto WeSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) members that almost came to blows after some tried to prevent Mantshe from receiving a memorandum of demands. However‚ Mantashe was able to receive the memorandum and was quickly whisked through the disgruntled MKMVA members. The#OccupyLuthuliHouse leaders demanded that Zuma step down as president of the ANC and the country‚ and also called for the resignation of the current top six National Executive Committee members of the party. High emotions followed a stand-off over the #OccupyLuthuliHouse campaign between a small group of disgruntled ANC members who attempted to occupy Luthuli House and those who said they were defending the offices.There have been growing calls for a special elective conference‚ with the party's Youth League spearheading the campaign.The organisers of the occupation campaign said in a statement they will not let the current crop of leaders take the party to the conference...
