Stalwart Winnie Madikizela Mandela was reduced to tears by the supporters who attended her birthday celebration held at Orlando West garden in Soweto on Monday. Mama Winnie‚ as she is affectionately known‚ told thousands of attendees at the celebration that last time she had a big birthday party was eight years ago."I am actually speechless today. I am finding it very difficult to talk to you. Emotions you have evoked today are the emotions of pre 1994 when we were fighting."What you have done for me‚ I can not even begin to thank you. I didn't expect it... it's the first time I am having a broad celebration of this nature‚" Madikizela Mandela said. The party‚ attended by thousands of ANC Women's League (ANCWL) members was one of many celebrations the stalwart had across the country."When I see you like this I can't even thank you. Such genuine love is not for me‚ it's for all the giants that came before me."Madikizela Mandela also took the time to plead with organs of the ANC to stop their infighting. The birthday celebration was attended by members of the ANCWL including Bathabile Dlamini and Maite Nkaona Mashabane.Artists Lundi and Sechaba offered entertainment while food and drinks were served to everyone. The celebrations will continue at a gala dinner at Emperors' Palace on Monday night. - TMG Digital..
