Thuli's state capture report with Speaker of Parliament

Outgoing Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's full state capture report has been placed in the care of the Speaker of Parliament‚ Baleka Mbete. Madonsela on Friday decided not to release her report as initially planned. "We have given it to the Speaker of Parliament for safe-keeping‚" she said.Madonsela was due to release her investigative report on Friday‚ but separate applications to interdict its release by Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Des van Rooyen and President Jacob Zuma threw a spanner in the works.Madonsela asked Van Rooyen if his advisers tried to swing government dealPublic Protector Thuli Madonsela wants to know from Des van Rooyen whether two people he appointed as advisors during his brief stint as the country's finance minister had tried to influence a government deal. Zuma’s application is set to be heard by the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday. Van Rooyen’s application was postponed to November 1. The report will remain in safekeeping until a ruling is made by the court. It deals with allegations that the Gupta family had influenced the appointment of members of the cabinet. ..
