ACDP couple still in love after 40 years

In a year of political shake-ups‚ one coalition has stood the test of time. Rev Kenneth Meshoe‚ president of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) and a Member of Parliament since 1994 and his wife of 40 years‚ Dr Lydia Meshoe‚ renewed their vows on Saturday.The ceremony took place at Hope of Glory Tabernacle in Vosloorus and was conducted by Bishop Paul S. Morton from the United States. The wedding guests numbered a few hundred and included pastors and VIPs from the South Africa‚ US‚ the DRC‚ Malawi and Nigeria.According to a statement from the party‚ "the bride‚ who was given away by her son Joshua‚ was radiant in a form-fitting pink silk gown encrusted with maroon lace""The groom‚ who arrived on the arm of his daughter-in-law‚ Lebo‚ looked handsome in a cream coat with matching maroon pants. They were accompanied by six groomsmen in black suits with cream shirts and pink ties‚ all married to the six beautiful bridesmaids in long lacy pink gowns."The couple reaffirmed their commitment to each other enthusiastically with the words "I surely do".They then "jived" down the aisle over scattered rose petals as the excited guests cheered and took photographs‚ before being whisked away‚ along with the rest of the bridal party‚ in a 12-car motorcade to their reception at the Birchwood Hotel.The couple met as students at the University of the North and married in 1976.According to the ACDP‚ they began their life together as penniless young missionaries who travelled through Africa with German evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.After living in the US for some time they return to South Africa with their three children to start Hope of Glory Tabernacle in Vosloorus. In 1993 Meshoe started the ACDP followed a few years ago by an organisation called Defend Embrace Invest Support Israel (DEISI)...
