Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has made several predictions in the past that have so far been found to have some element of truth. Some of them include:Arrest of the finance minister'Where are they getting their instructions from?' Pravin Gordhan on fraud chargesFinance minister Pravin Gordhan has questioned why the Hawks have issued him a summons just 15 days before he delivers his medium term budget. During the local government elections campaign in May this year‚ Malema told Khayelitsha‚ Cape Town residents that Gordhan was going to be arrested by the "Zuma government" because he was pressured to replace Des van Rooyen as finance minister in December and place Gordhan in the post."When Zuma put Pravin‚ Zuma's people came to me and said 'we don't want Pravin and we know you guys don't want Pravin. So please write questions to the President so that the President can answer genuinely and honestly so that we create cloud around Pravin'‚ and we said we are not going to be part of that."I was informed last week that the Guptas came back for their liquidation case and they told the liquidators not to worry liquidation because Pravin is going to be arrested and once Pravin is arrested then he's going to be removed because the argument is going to be that we cannot be that we cannot have a minister who is facing serious charges as a minister of finance. Then he will be removed and then they will put a minister of their choice and then once they put a minister of their choice‚ the liquidation case against the Guptas will then disappear."Video posted to YouTube by My Africa.Accuses Mabala Noise Entertainment of money launderingANCYL treasurer steps down from companies doing business with governmentMabala Noise Entertainment co-owner Reggie Nkabinde has resigned from two of his companies. The EFF's press conference at the IEC Results Centre took a whole different direction when Malema used it to accuse ANC Youth League's Treasurer General Reggie Nkambule of using his company Mabala Noise Entertainment as a front for laundering money from the department of Water and Sanitation."Reggie gave each artist registered under Mabala not less than R5million each. Where does Reggie get the money from? No journalist has ever asked that Treasury of the Youth League.""He brought Chris Brown in Durban during Durban July‚ paid Chris Brown R10 million and he never made back that money‚ why? Because they were launching that Mabala Noise to go and capture celebrities in the name of them being registered under a progressive company called Mabala Noise‚ then they take Mabala Noise celebrities into the ANC events‚" alleged Malema. The EFF later proceeded to lay charges against Nkabinde and Mabala Noise.Subsequently‚ Nkabinde resigned from two companies that he was chairing.Video posted to YouTube by eNCA. Skip to 23:30Says the Guptas appointed Fikile Mbalula as Sports Minister in 2010 Malema said that Fikile Mbalula was appointed by the Guptas as Sports Minister in 2010.The allegations came during the State of the Nation Address (Sona) debate in Parliament where Malema said that Mbalula was informed by the Guptas in a phone call that he has been appointed Sports Minister‚ this before President Jacob Zuma officially announced the appointment.Although there is no proof to these allegations‚ Mbalula took to Twitter to say that what Malema said was "well known public record"."The info Julius dished out today in his speech is not new‚ is well known public record‚" Mbalula tweeted.Guptas arranged a R6 billion drop off in DubaiWATCH: What were you doing in Dubai‚ Minister Van Rooyen?Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema questioned Des Van Rooyen during a debate in Parliament on Tuesday as his fellow EFF members heckled the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. In March this year‚ Malema accused the Guptas of organising a R6 billion drop off in Dubai aided by President Jacob Zuma."Zuma was in UAE recently in Dubai. That was not an official visit‚ it was a personal one. Zuma took money to UAE. That is where they are dumping money. The Guptas have taken R6bn to Dubai‚" Malema told reporters at a media conference at the time following the Constitutional Court judgment. In his court application‚ finance minister Pravin Gordhan showed for the first time why the four major banks including Standard Bank and FNB shut Gupta accounts citing dodgy bank transactions. He said that an email he received from the director of the FIC giving details of suspicious transactions amounting to R6.8 billion detected in Oakbay accounts‚ which led to their closure of the accounts.Although Malema may seem to be off on his prediction on how the money left the country‚ it seems he was accurate on the amount‚ which is just over R6 billion.Malema said the money was dropped off in Dubai‚ but according to Standard Bank‚ they closed the accounts citing they risked contravening laws including the Prevention of Organised Crime Act‚ Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act‚ the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act - could the latter two show that the instead of Dubai‚ the money left the shore for the US and the UK? - TMG Digital/Sowetan..
